Wednesday started off in the exact same way that Monday did - only today, Blake brushed his teeth! Yay! And for some reason, I had the urge to go barefoot. I actually hate wearing shoes. Well, actually I hate wearing socks and I don't like flip flops so barefoot seems to be the best option. Freedom from my shoes was almost all I could think about during psychology today while we were looking at optical illusions.
When we were released from class five minutes early, Blake and I hit the cafeteria before the rush and I went back to my lunch of chicken caesar salad. I spent my hour between classes catching up on my You Tube videos mostly so I wouldn't have to do any work. Then I went to my English class and turned in a paper and proceeded to sit through another unbearable Ideas and Innovations class. Today it actually really frustrated me as we were talking about calculus (one of my favorite subjects) and the professor didn't know what he was talking about while I did, but he refused to acknowledge that I was correct. I got so pissed off. Whatever, I don't take it again for five more days. Bleh.
For the next two hours I occupied my time with reading The Red Tent which got unexpectedly graphic and bloody really quickly - I was actually just as shocked as the characters were. Then Blake and Fiona came up to my room and we headed down to our dorm hall's free barbecue. As college kids, free food is pretty much the most exciting thing to ever happen for us. Then I received a lovely package from my mom and a birthday card from my grandma (I turn 19 tomorrow). My grandma graciously gave me $30 which was very nice of her and my mom sent me an awesome box full of food - most notably a giant ass Rice Krispie Treat. It's one foot wide, fifteen inches long, and weighs two pounds. I don't know how I'm going to be able to eat it all. Oh and my favorite things were these new Keebler cookies that taste EXACTLY like caramel delights or somoas, the girl scout cookies. I almost died of happiness.
The rest of the evening went by pretty smoothly. A lot of us just sat around and re-watched the season finale of Glee and munched on the giant Rice Krispie. Blake has been acting all jealous and neglected because I commented on this guy's really nice body and how I wish I looked like him. But he's just joking so it's all cool. Maybe I really should go to the gym. Though I have been getting in push ups at various times throughout the day. Or other small, fun little exercises. I mean, all I really need to do is tone up a little cause I don't really have any fat to get rid of.
Oh, the title of the blog. My friend Caitlyn and I did laundry tonight and then went to the cafeteria to get some nachos and because my shoes were on the fourth floor and we were on the first, I decided to just go barefoot cause I was only going to be in there for about two minutes. As we're paying, one of the workers comes up to me and says "I feel like we've already had this conversation before" which immediately made me feel awkward because he's gay and thirty and well Caitlyn and I both thought he was about to hit on me. No, instead I get a bit too much attitude with a "could you wear shoes next time you're in here" and a dramatic turn and walk away. Um, okay sure. I've never actually talked to you before but sure, assume all you want. And this got me thinking, honestly what's the difference of my walking in there in my dirty old flip flops and going barefoot? Nothing really. Oh well, I'll try to make him happy. I just expected a bit more politeness from the guy. I should stop complaining though, cause most of the time he is really nice. Okay, I'm done ranting about such a trivial thing. I have to go study for a speech test tomorrow - whatever that's over.
