Tuesdays. I have a love hate relationship with Tuesdays. It's the day of my two favorite classes, but that means I have to wake up at 7. Why did I voluntarily choose an 8 a.m. class you ask. I really don't know anymore. But it went well. Today we had to deliver our first speech which we had a lot of freedom with because it was a "special occasion" so I dedicated it my parents faux fiftieth anniversary - how exciting. Oh, and guess who didn't brush their teeth... again. *cough* Blake *cough*
So anyways, after speech I waited on Blake who has biology at the same time and then forced him to drive me to Walmart as I needed a folder - a simple, two pocket, paper folder. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find one in Walmart? I was looking diligently on one aisle for thirty minutes during which time I proceeded to cut myself on some unknown object hidden within the shelves. Luckily I managed to knock aside a few items and finally I found what I needed. How did such a simple task turn into something so difficult?
While I was causing a fuss looking for school supplies, Blake was on the other side of the store sneakily trying to buy the ingredients needed to make my birthday cake, but I caught him - mostly because he didn't have a basket and was stumbling around the store looking a bit like a drunkard who was stealing eggs, vegetable oil. and cake batter. How I love him. We ended up spending about another fifteen minutes trying to decide what icing to put on my devils food cake and finally decided on some simple white icing. Today's simple tasks have been overcome with such difficulty.
After we finally left the store and hour after we got there, I had to head up to the soulless ging - I mean Fiona's room to nurse her back to health as she seems to have come down with a cold that's quickly spreading around campus. I know I started upping my vitamin C intake. By this point it had just turned 10:30 and it was another three and half hours before my second class of the day so Blake and I worked on all of our assignments and got some lunch. I broke my norm and went with buffalo chicken sliders today. Believe me, if you ate one, you would know why.
Two o'clock finally rolled around and I went to my favorite class - Women in the Bible. We just discussed Diamant's The Red Tent today but I was afraid for my life before class even started. I was casually staring at this girl's shirt for The Postal Service (awesome band) and the main attraction just happened to be right where her boobs are. When my attention faded from the print I saw a face stricken with anger and disgust at the fact that a man had just been so obviously staring. I thought she was going to stab me so I had to quickly explain the situation - I mean I'm not even into girls and I have girl troubles. Oh well.
Blake picked me up from class as usual with my box of Juicy Juice - who doesn't love Juicy Juice? We just came back to the dorms and did some more work and proceeded to live out a fairly uneventful evening. Although I did have my salad for dinner so I didn't feel guilty about breaking my own rule. My night mostly ended up being me doing extra work while Blake went to a play for his freshman studies class. Well my roommate is off to the gym making me feel like a fat ass yet again. Maybe I'll do some push ups or something. Or maybe I'll just lay in bed and listen to Florence and the Machine (another awesome band). So until tomorrow...
