It's Saturday and I'm still celebrating my birthday! Hooray! Today is the day my family showered me with presents. I woke up to freshly baked snicker doodles, a warm hoodie, and my Barnes & Noble Nook. I was most excited about the Nook because I've been looking forward to it for about that past three months. I immediately downloaded the last two books in the Millennium series. You know, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest all by the now deceased Stieg Larson. It's a fantastic series and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good mystery or a thriller.
Anyways, I went to Red Lobster for my birthday lunch with my family, Blake, my best friend Jennifer, and a super surprise visit from one of my favorite people in the world, Stacy. Jennifer gave me a Rikku key chain (Final Fantasy X-2) even though I still don't have my car back. I satisfied my over exaggerated birthday hunger with crab cakes, shrimp scampi, lobster, snow crab legs, mashed potatoes, fried shrimp, six biscuits, and a slice of apple crumble. Shut up! It's my birthday and I have every right to subscribe to fat assery.
After dinner, Blake and I went to hang out with our friend Chelsea who is currently stranded in Houston because of her parents. We decided to take a risk and see Devil directed by M. Night Shyamalan, whom we all know has not produced a good film in... well I've lost count of the years. In case you were wondering, it was actually very well done. The acting could have been better from a few characters but altogether it was enjoyable - good plot, nice suspense, and a pretty good twist at the end. You should definitely give it a chance.
So once the movie was over, Blake, Chelsea and I went to Culver's for dinner... well so Chelsea could eat dinner. Blake and I were still stuffed from Red Lobster. Chelsea had her burger and Blake and I longed for a malt but feared that it would induce vomiting. We dropped off Chelsea and ended up back at my house where we talked through the argument we had had the night before. Pretty good considering it was our first one in over 8 months and we weren't really even fighting. Blake eventually went home and now I'm tired.
